In the afternoon of April 25th, 2009, the final of ‘The 4th Changning District Foreigners' Talent Competition’ was held at Shanghai Brilliance West Shopping Mall. Five teams of our international students were qualified during the heat. They brought various performances including passionate modern dance, miraculous magic, touching guitar performance and exotic traditional dance.

During the fierce final competition, Fijian student Bai Jie from our ICES-DHU obtained the high score of 98, winning the second prize with her charming dance. Other three teams swept the third prizes and another student won the merit award.

The competition not only provides an opportunity to show foreigners’ talent, but encourages foreigners to participate in the Shanghai 2010 World Expo as well. The organizer issued the certificates of ‘The World Expo Volunteers’ to the contestants. They were honored to be a part of the foreign artistic volunteer group to welcome the Shanghai 2010 World Expo.

The competition was splendid, especially the excellent performances of our international students captured the attentions of many media such as Shanghai Dragon TV, Jiefang Daily, Youth Daily and Shanghai Daily etc. Web media like Tencent, Shanghai Volunteer Net, Eastday and Shanghai Civilization Net etc also reported this competition.
