Important Reminding Before Doing Application Online
Please make sure you have well prepared scan or photo copies of the following required documents and be aware of the alternative ways to pay for application fee.
Application Fee
PLEASE BE REMINDED THAT YOUR APPLICATION WON'T BE PROCESSED BY THE SCHOOL UNLESS THE APPLICATION FEE IS PAID. YOU WILL GET THE CONFIRMATION LETTER FROM BOTH THE CUCAS APPLICATION SYSTEM AND THE SCHOOL UPON YOUR PAYMENT ARRIVES.
CUCAS offers four kinds of payment methods, and you would find your payment details when you doing application online.
1. PayPal: Payments made through Paypal are safe, easy and convenient. If you have used Paypal in the past, please click the PayPal button on the webpage of "Make Payment" and follow the directions.
2. Bank Transfer (T/T) Overseas: Applicants overseas can use bank transfer to pay the application fee in US Dollars.
3. Bank Transfer (T/T) in China: Applicants in China can use a direct bank transfer to pay the application fee in RMB.
4. Western Union: CUCAS recommends applicants who are inconvient with T/T or PayPal payments use Western Union (especially African applicants).
Application Materials
Make sure that you have prepared for the following documents before starting online application. You will be asked to upload attachments when applying.
Long-term Chinese Program
1. A photocopy of the applicant's passport;
2. Passport-size photo;
Vacation Chinese Program
Submit photocopy of the valid passport (with name, passport number & expiration date, and photo included). Applicant in China should submit photocopy of current valid visa extra.
Preparation Program before Degree Studies (PPDS)
1. A photocopy of the applicant's passport;
2. Passport-size photo;
3. An official certificate of your highest education;
4. Academic record: a photocopy of the transcript;
Note: Diploma copy & transcript must be in English or Chinese with valid university official verification. Translated copies in English or Chinese must be notarized. If the original copy of diploma and transcript are in Chinese or English.
Bachelor's Degree Programs in English
1. A photocopy of the applicant's passport;
2. Passport-size photo;
3. An official certificate of secondary or post-secondary educational credentials;
4. Academic record: a photocopy of secondary or post-secondary educational transcript;
5. Certificate of IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL (PBT) 500 and above or equivalent
6. Personal Statement in English
7. Original copy of English Recommendation letter from previous teachers (only for scholarship applicants)
Note: Transcripts of current high school results are required for submission at the time application is made. Complete transcripts will be required for submission after a student has graduated from high school. Any transcript, secondary or post-secondary educational credentials, or documentation issued in a language other than English or Chinese must be sent with an authenticated (notarized or certified) English or Chinese translation.
Bachelor's Degree Programs in Chinese
1. A photocopy of the applicant's passport;
2. Passport-size photo;
3. An official certificate of high school diploma ;
4. Academic record: a photocopy of the transcript;
• Diploma copy & transcript must be in English or Chinese with valid university official verification. Translated copies in English or Chinese must be notarized. If the original copy of diploma and transcript are in Chinese or English, electronic copies are acceptable.
5. Copy of HSK 3 Certificate or above acquired in the latest two years.
• Original copies of HSK certificate, high school diploma & official transcript are needed to be verified during the enrollment. If the electronic copies differ from the original ones, students may not be qualified to the process of enrollment.
6. Original copies of 2 latest works of art, one in pencil sketch and the other in color painting, are required by Art-related programs application like Artistic Design, Digital Medial Art, Animation, and Technology and Art of Exhibition.
• Admitted artistic major students must take exams before the enrollment, including pencil sketch & color painting. If the exam results do not accord with the works submitted in the application, student may not be qualified to enroll.
7. Other requisite certificates or materials, such as testimonials
Master's Degree Programs
1. A photocopy of the applicant's passport;
2. Passport-size photo;
3. An official certificate of Bachelor degree diploma;
4. Academic record: a photocopy of the transcript;
• Diploma copy & transcript must be in English or Chinese with valid university official verification. Translated copies in English or Chinese must be notarized. If the original copy of diploma and transcript are in Chinese or English, electronic copies are acceptable.
5. Copy of HSK 5 Certificate or above acquired in the latest two years;
• Original copies of HSK certificate, high school diploma & official transcript are needed to be verified during the enrollment. If the electronic copies differ from the original ones, students may not be qualified to the process of enrollment
6. Study Plan in English or Chinese, in which consist of personal information, education background, working experience, learning objectives, and interested research areas. Applicant’s signature is a needed.
7. two recommendation letters in English or Chinese. Recommendation letters prepared by university professors or associate professors, directors of the work, or authorities is a plus.
8. Original copies of 2 latest works of art, one in pencil sketch and the other in color painting, are required by the programs of Study of Design Art

1. Age between 16 and 60 years old, healthy
2. Have a valid ordinary foreign passport (Applicants have been in China must have a valid visa).
Long-term Chinese Program
1. Applicants should be in good healt;
2. aged between 15 and 60;
3. and holding a valid foreign passport
Preparation Program before Degree Studies (PPDS)
1. applicants who are eligible for undergraduate or postgraduate studies;
2. Applicants should be in good healt;
3. and holding a valid foreign passport
Bachelor's Degree Programs in English
1. Non-Chinese citizen in good health; High school graduates, must be younger than 35 years old;
2. An applicant whose native language is not English and/or a student who has been in a country or province where English is not the official language must submit a score of TOEFL 500 or IELTS 5.5. (The TOEFL Institution code of Donghua University is 4422.)
Note:
Conditional Admission
Applicants with IELTS between 4.0 and 5.5 or equivalent may be admitted conditionally. Conditional student will be required to take English classes to improve one’s English proficiency to the entrance standard (i.e. IELTS 5.5) within the first year. English classes are charged at RMB 50 per hour.
Review of Documents Submitted
There will be a requirement for applicants in some countries to be interviewed prior to admission into the programs.
Bachelor's Degree Programs in Chinese
1. Non-Chinese citizen in good health; High school graduates must be younger than 35 years old;
2. Hold HSK 3 certificate or above acquired in the latest two years;
3. State-of-the-art virtue is a must as applying for artistic majors like Artistic Design, Digital Media Art, Animation, and Technology and Art of Exhibition.
Master's Degree and Doctoral Degree Programs
1. Non-Chinese citizen in good health;
2. All the courses of Mater’s programs and most courses of Doctoral programs are instructed in Chinese; Hold HSK 5 certificate or above acquired in the latest two years;
3. Master program applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in correlated disciplines and be younger than 40 years old. Doctoral program applicant must hold a Master’s degree in correlated disciplines and be younger than 45 years old.
